The Vette on the magazine cover was likely a gasser. No front bumper and bumpers were required in modified. Also there was no carb limit on a gasser.

The Corvette does have the factory bumpers for a 1956-57.

You are correct. I didn't even see them at first. Still think the car was in gas and not MP though.

My brother ran H/MP and he was running three weber side drafts on his 292 in a chevy ll body. We took it to Indy one year but couldn't get by Cotton. I don't remember what year it was but there must have been 12 or 14 H cars there.

The Vette was a L/Gas car, I was showing the 3-4barrels on it..

I have always had love and interest in inline drag engines. Most were before my time, but I did see Ann Peto make many passes and win the IHRA Modified championship with a 300 ford in a roadster,, meanwhile back to the post. I read anything I could find on Cotton's 292c.i. Chevy deuce, he had tried 2bbls., webbers, and 4bbls. I can't remember 3x4bbls. I'm not a induction expert but I don't think a sub 300 inch engine could even use 3 390cfm Nascar 4bbls. and I don't think they were available back then. Don Jackson
