Re: 904 transmission
Does anybody have a Pro Trans list of letter codes and available gear ratios?
Edit: I found the link in the fine print on their website. Last edited by S/ST 3040; 12-12-2018 at 09:47 PM. Reason: Correction |

Re: 904 transmission
Just FYI that on insidecompracing.com you can go to the classified section and generally find some 904 gear sets and trans for sale. Many of the comp folks run Pro Trans.

Re: 904 transmission
We use Pro Trans. We like the 727 SB more than the 904. Has a few different parts and deeper pan doesn't hit the rotating assembly. You probably need a 2.65 to 275 first.

Re: 904 transmission
I’m thinking 2.75 I want to get off the line much quicker than I am now.

Re: 904 transmission
You can try 2.75 inexpensively......They came factory in many late model
904s. They are not straight cut BUT a Huge improvement over 2.45 in a small block.

Re: 904 transmission
Pro Trans just did a 904 for my Aspen with a 360. He decided on a 2.61 first and 1.61 for second gear.
