Msd 7al-2
I have a MSD 7AL-2 box. Not the 7AL-2 Plus. Are there any upgrades available for this older 7AL or is it necessary to get a different box. It seems the Plus has a two step and mine only the one chip rev limiter. We are talking drag race only.

Re: Msd 7al-2
Just add a separate 2 step module, dial or chip type.

Re: Msd 7al-2
Use either the above 2 step module or I have used the 3 step module with success.

Re: Msd 7al-2
I would recommend a two step with
switches. The "pills" are just resistors and they WILL corrode; changing value(s). Terry K |

Re: Msd 7al-2
My old AL6 box had dials for the 2 step and they fell off. I looked and dial or DIP switch 2 step controllers don't seem to be available. Pills are reasonably reliable considering that they can be replaced every few seasons if the humidity gets high. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and have pills in my 7 Plus and RPM switch for the shift light.
