My 2 cents....for what that’s worth....really sad that someone wrecked the Factory Showdown Class!! No matter who! This was to be a class to bring out the best in the manufacturers and subsequent participants.
I guess the good will prevail, but who knows? To take 2 races and on the way to a championship and then after the fact to found illegal is an abomination of the class! So what about the points championship and the dollars that come with that??? Call an attorney?!!!??
Anyway, what a great Indy!!! Best of luck to all that remain in competition!
Can’t wait until next year!
I do believe that the honor system has left the building.

A part of the field competes with "honor;" there are always a few who use a "system." It all seems pretty much like a metaphor for "life."

Historically, the fastest way to undermine and topple any institution is to prevent the enforcement of its rules and, ultimately, the integrity of the entire structure will crumble. If it were not for a rigorous system of rules and a vigorous enforcement of those rules, Stock classes would not have existed past 1965.

Chuck, as long as I've known you, I've enjoyed the brilliance of your intellectual properties as expressed by your ability to sum a situation up accurately with as few words as necessary. True brilliance is often revealed in brevity. That being said, the "system" should consist of driving the starting line, dialing the number, then driving the other line down there to suit the situation. Honor plays into that as well. Illegally modifying a car to take advantage of heads ups is the honor part of it. What good is a win in the real sense if a person has to lie, cheat, and steal to achieve it? I realize that's a microcosm of the real world at times, but those people get found out and have no reputation as a result. A few tenths can be worked for and gotten, but once a reputation is gone, what's left?

Check this out. I just went on DRC and Mr. Welch has been bounced and Mark Pawuk (his opponent) has been reinstated.
