I am realy trying to understand some of this. A couple of guys are all hopped up on pure stock. But then the same guys are talking about convertors and cams and now bragging about NO FUEL check. Is it pure stock or street cars that really should be bracket racing until they can race Stock or Super Stock or some other class that has been around since the beginning.

I really don't think I need you to tell me when bracket racing started. What I am saying is: if it is pure stock then dag gone it let it be pure. When you start getting cams done, convertors done and bragging about NO FUEL check, then it is NOT Pure Stock. Either race stock or not. What is so hard to understand. With these rules some of us experienced guys could put a two and half or three seconds under, just for the fun of it. What do you think Paul, Bob whoever.

You can make the same argument for Stock or SS. Pure Stock basically is Jr Stock with tighter rules. Or how Stock became after 1974 with tight Cam and Spring Rules. Stock morphed because of time consuming Cam inspection. Stock Tech now just measures Lift. In fact most of us can drive our cars to the track and often do on the Street. D |
