battery box?
10 sec. super/pro car need an enclosed battery box? '96 camaro with the battery down in the spart tire compartment along with the fuel cell... there's a hinged cover closes that area in.

If the cover you have qualifies thickness wise for a rear firewall you do not need a battery box but regulations state that the relocated batteries must be secured to the frame or frame structure so unless you have some type of cross member back there you may still be in the grey area.

It just depends on who is teching the car. I almost did not get to race at the bracket finals a few years ago because all I had was the piece that wolf racecraft makes in the back. We had to make up some panels out of sheet alum for the sides before I could run.Their arugument was that the gas fumes could come around the side plastics and into the driver area. They also wanted a seperate ground strap on the fuel cell even though it is aluminum and mounted directly to the steel body. 95 firebird here.
