Live From Indy......Again
Rolled into Indianapolis around 6 PM. Pits are awfully empty. I'm curious to see how many Super Stockers will be here in the morning. I went for a ride around the pits and sure enough i ran into Jeff Taylor wrenching away on that beautiful Camaro. Presently I'm prisoner at Fridays restaurant due to the tornado warning in the area. Weather looks great for the weekend. Hopefully we won't have to come back again. More to come in the morning.

Re: Live From Indy......Again
I dropped the trailer off earlier, left about 3pm and was shocked how empty the pits were.

Down by the dumpsters again? We needed about an extra half gallon of fuel to get to the staging lanes last time. lOL

Re: Live From Indy......Again
The storm here is epic. It's down pouring and the wind is incredible. Something tells me we will not start on time tomorrow. Maybe the time shot sceduled for the morning will get the boot?

Re: Live From Indy......Again
BROWNSBURG, Ind. - 8:15 a.m. - Here we go again! Even though the forecasts for today and tomorrow are for very good conditions for drag racing, the appointed time has come and not much is happening.
The Indianapolis area (and the rest of Indiana) got all the bad stuff that didn't happen last weekend in a fairly short period of time: heavy rain (over 2.5 inches), hail, thunder and lightning. Even the Friday-night football games were postponed until today. Lucas Oil Raceway Park is a very soggy place - about the only dry area is the racing surface. Track workers are busy pumping water out of the low-lying areas of the pits and the start of racing will be delayed by about three hours. The casualties of the delay? The Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Funny Cars has been postponed to "a date and place to be named later" and Stock Eliminator will not be on the track at all today. Super Stock will get a time trial to open the day's activities, but will only run one round of eliminations this evening. Top Alcohol and Pro Mod will get the qualifying session wiped out last weekend and the first round of Top Alcohol eliminations is scheduled for this evening. Pro Mod, however, won't get their first round of eliminations until Sunday. The current "official" schedule projection is: 11:00 AM Super Stock TT-1 12:00 PM Top Alcohol Funny Car Q-3 Top Alcohol Dragster Q-3 1:30 PM Competition E-1 2:15 PM Pro Stock Motorcycle Q-3 Pro Stock Car Q-3 3:00 PM Funny Car Q-4 Top Fuel Q-4 4:30 PM Pro Mod Q-2 5:00 PM Pro Stock Motorcycle Q-4 Pro Stock Car Q-4 5:45 PM Funny Car Q-5 Top Fuel Q-5 7:00 PM Top Alcohol Funny Car E-1 Top Alcohol Dragster E-1 Super Stock E-1 9:00 PM Secure *** Schedule subject to change ***
