Default Slant 6 stocker help

Found a Super 6 in a '77 Aspen. With a few extra pounds V/SA. I don't have much of a clue what to expect performance wise. I'll trade the 8 1/4 in for a 8 3/4. Other than a few tricks, I don't know what to do with the tranny, converter, rear gear, suspension and redline for this motor. Any Slant 6 Stockers out there that give me some direction? Thanks

Mike Jeffrey in Lexington NE has a diplomat that qualifies top 5 anywhere. I'm sure someone on this board has his #. In the mean time don't over cam or over gear this combo. I ran 5:13 gears and 30 in tall tires, but everyone else ran less gear and had quicker et's but about the same mph. (87 mph was my best) And remember anything that spins in or on the engine drastically affects perf. I fought with my V/sa for a long time before installing an electric fan and a electric waterpump drive. Those two items were worth 6 tenths on my car! Also Bullet ground me a cam that was about a tenth and a half quicker than the the comp cam I used previously. Pm me if you want and I will try and help.

Mike called me today to tell me about this thread. His advice is to go get a lobotomy, you'll be happier in the long run.

Just kidding, he said to post his number, he's usually home anytime after 8 PM CST. 308/324-3576.
