Cool. Thanks. I am thinking I was off on the defactoring. Probably need to lower the NHRA HP by least 80 hp off for the CNC porting.

Your in D-3 have you talked to Paul Booster he runs a nice red vette with front mount trans. and solid rear set up . Its fast and goes rounds , he won the dutch race at maple grove 2 years ago . I wouldn't run the IRS with trans its a sports car deal and you will blow it up . I think you can go with block mount bell , clutch and trans.(G-force or Gerico) and solid rear . It is a faster set up too . The Z06 is a nat. AA/s stick only car I think .So I was looking at the less HP combo with automatic . But its out of my buget for now . Good luck and I hope you build one totally cool car .

The C5 Z06 does not have Ti rods, Ti intake valves, , CNC heads, or dry sump. The C5 Z06 has powdered metal rods, hollow stem steel valves, as cast unported heads, and internal pump wet sump.

Nope. C5 z06 is not dry sum, no it rods, no cnc heads. You don't know what you are talking about. You are however correct on the 06 up cars. The 01-04 Z06 were 5.7L LS6, the C6 is 7.0L (427) LS7 505hp with the dry sump, ti valves and rods, and cnc heads

Which would be a better Stick-Shift Stocker, a C4 Corvette or a C5 Z06?

I like the C4, and it seems as though it would be fairly straight forward to build, but I like the C5 more (quicker, better looking, etc.). However, making the transaxle in the Z06 work has me concerned, as in, should I go with a solid axle or keep the IRS, is there a manual tranny that will work back there, etc.

Also, with the factory rating on the Z06 motor already at 405, is there much more that can be rung out of it compared to the LT4 in the C4?

Any input is greatly appreciated!!
The C5 Z06 LS6 is overated at 405 hp, the LS1 in the C5 with a slightly smaller port/slightly less compression is rated at 340 hp, a much better combo I think, and can run B/S thru E/S depending on which year is claimed.
