Default Re: Original hemi dart information

Maybe the current owner will jump in here and post some recent photos of this L023 68 Hemi Dart that was known as Spider.

There was a picture of the car in the 1980 Direct Connection Catalog wearing 69 tail lights. Harry sold the car to Toli Polewik in Iowa, who sold the car to Ray Barton. Barton was building the car for John McGill who owned the Checker Drive ins out of Alabama. Bucky painted the checker paint for the drive in. I was told that McGill never picked up the car and then was sold to Jim Whipple who was out of Michigan. Jim Pancake got the car next and I bought the car from Jim in December of 2005, who I have known for a long time. The car is the 13th one built and it came with a certicard. Today the car has a 11:5 motor in it with mufflers and has been seen on the streets.

As near as I can get with the Manhattan Car is that it was a stick car, so pretty much takes this one out of contention also.
