LAST S/SS COMBO @ BIR Oct. 1st
Well, everyone it has been a fast short summer, but a good one!
The last of the Eric Kitzan Transport S/SS combos @ BIR is on Sat. Oct. 1st. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who were able to run the BIR S/SS combos this year. I think things ( over all ) went very well. Thanks to BIR !!! for giving the S/SS racers a place to race!! Our S/SS COMBOS made some NHRA National Events look low on attendance this year. We have a first class facility, track prep was real good our own tech line. The tower staff was good at the ladders and Q. sheets. We have a TRUE S/SS combo with sales and heads-up racing! ( not a glorified bracket race) We NEVER sat in the staging lanes like last year, well.err....I mean.uuumm... every year! for the past 20 years. Now Then.. You can't say that racing the combos doesn't make any difference. Look at the at the National and Divisonal races that the BIR combo attendees were at. You will see LOTS of Final round appearances!! Way to go!! all of you!! I've had very low number of negative comments. (you can't make everyone happy) Special thanks to Eric Kitzan for his $500 contribution to our pay-out fund! Thanks Eric for SUPPORTING ALL OF US!! THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING MAKE THIS A SUCCESS!!! We will have a good time at the last race of 2011! Sat. Oct. 1st Lets make it one to remember!! Thanks again!!! Glen,
You buying the beer for Friday night "committee meeting"? If I'm driving 4 hours for a meeting I think there should be some incentive.... Tim |

Re: LAST S/SS COMBO @ BIR Oct. 1st
I guess I should have been more clear.
You don't need to be there on Fri. night for the meeting. I do. However! If you would like to attend with me for support and input that would be excellent. As for the beer... I have been known to buy a round or two. I'm sure mike owes you a couple! We need to keep the car count up so we can have this deal again next year! Let everyone know. Thanks! Glen |

Re: LAST S/SS COMBO @ BIR Oct. 1st
Glen,
Only 2 issues come to my mind: 1) Develope a easier / more practical way to pay for only racing on Sat. Everytime we went we paid a different price. Would be nice if they didn't charge if u came into facility after racing is done Friday evening. 2) Move the fish houses at the main gate. Hard to make corner into track without worrying about messing up trailer. Other than that, been a good year. Keep up your good work!

Glen,
Thank you for orginizing these events. I am sorry I could not come out to support more this season. Did you get enough cars to be able to continue next year? Keep us informed and keep up the good work. Thank you, Larry Curtis |

Re: LAST S/SS COMBO @ BIR Oct. 1st
Hi
First of all congratulations on the new E/SA RECORD!!! Wow that car of yours Hauls It! Well let me tell you..I had asked about the "fish house deal" and I got shot down! For some reason they think that they need to have them.???? I know the guys with the big rigs HATE going through that gate & making that sharp turn. I am going to try to suggest the we use gate B to go in & out for the drag races. I think that would end a bunch of confusion for everyone. What do you think?? (we'll see how that goes??) As for the entry fee deal... I don't know what to tell you about that. I will let BIR know your disappointment and confusion. I'll see if I can get to the bottom of what IS going on with all of that. The BIR banquet is Nov. 19 2011 AT THE LODGE in Brainerd, MN please go to the BIR web site to get signed up! Please try to attend. lets show our appreciation for BIR giving us the last minute change of heart and the opportunity to race the way our car should be raced heads -up with a scale. Not just a glorified bracket race that CLAIMS to be a true S/SS combo. Thanks again to all of you for your support and I hope we can do this again next year! I will keep you all informed on here as things develop. Thanks again Glen DeMenge Quote:
