Default T-stop question AGAIN

My new dragster needs a t-stop.
565 Dominator on alky
Miller mono shock
Car currently has No air.

What is recommended?
Inline?
Plate?
Air?
Electric?
I like the easy button which means Electric Plate for installation.

Thanks
Chip

For best consistency, IMHO, I think the order goes: air plate, air linkage, electric plate, electric linkage. First is a good air plate like Dedenbear or #1 Stop, if you can't cut enough MPH (too much HP) go with Biondo's air linkage, then down the line from there.

Adding CO2 is not a nightmare, go check out Biondo's page and get a bottle kit along with a #1 stop, or get a Dedenbear kit from Jegs/Summit that includes the bottle and all the other pieces, and you're good to go.

AIR only. Change to air shift also, too many issues with solenoids getting hot. If installed correctly, you won't have issues with air leaks. You can then add the "auto start" feature so you take the guesswork out when to rev the motor when bracket racing and leaving second. Like Chris said, it's not as daunting as you may think. I've heard too many stories about inconsistent shifting with electric shifters.

My old car was all air, it worked well.

My 10.90 car is all electric and never had a problem with it.

My car is all air (shift & T/Stop) never had any problem in seven years.

I've run Electric Stops in the past and run the #1 Stop now, which I find to be much more consistent than the Electric Stops 4 blade I ran.

If you do go with the Plate make sure it's for Alky !

Electric stops work fine....I have ran the #1 stop for years trouble free (and I bought it from them used). I have several perfectly strange awards so they are consistent. Usually when someone has trouble it is because they are doing something wrong.....no alternator, low voltage, wrong wiring, etc. They do the same with air, line leaks, bottle left on, etc.

The advantage of air is being able to regulate the speed at which the stop applies and releases....that helps big HP cars from spinning when they come off the stop. I would definitely recommend a second bottle if you run air...seen too many guys scrambling becasue they had a problem and ran out of air.....that's another nice thing about the electric stop....if you run out of electrons...it doesn't matter the car isn't starting anyway.

A good setup with the right install is really the key. Follow the directions on everything, don't cut corners or outguess the directions and you shouldn't have any problems with either.

Good Luck!

Debated the K&R system time and again this winter. Have a friend who swears by it.

I worry about yet another piece of mechanical stuff in the car. If it craps out, you're screwed. Couldn't fix it in the pits without a spare.

But we have spare small bottles and a big bottle to refill from. I can fix an air leak or empty bottle in the staging lanes. That gizmo, if it craps out, the weekend's over.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool, but I decided to head back to the bottle.
