Default MASGA invades MIR on Sept 25th & 26th

The Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association will swing back into action the weekend of September 25th & 26th at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Md for the 1st annual “North vs. South 9.90 Shootout”. This will be the first time that MASGA has visited Royce Miller’s beautiful drag strip located in the Chesapeake Bay just south of Washington, DC.
Gates will open at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday. Time Shots will begin at 1pm on Saturday followed by eliminations at 3pm. On Sunday, time shots will begin at 11am with eliminations starting at 2pm. As always MASGA will have 2 time-shots per day and you will be put on a NHRA sportsman ladder for 1st round. The higher qualified car for 1st round will get lane choice for that round only. We use a real .400 Pro Tree and not the .370 Tree used in NHRA Divisional / National Event competition. MASGA welcomes all NHRA Super Gas and IHRA Super Rod racers so you do not have to be a member of the series to run with us but, if you happen to Win or Runner-Up the dues will be taken out and you will earn points for that race.
As most of you also know MIR marks the final 2 races of the year for MASGA and we have a very tight point’s battle going into the final races. Currently, Iggie Boicesco (302) holds a 2 round points lead over both Derek Clark (260) and George Donhauser (260) who are tied for 2nd place. All 3 drivers still have a race to claim in the point’s championship since we lost three events due to rain. Sitting right behind Clark and Donhauser is Tom Goldman (238) in 4th and Mike Lauria (215) in 5th.
Parking for the event is as follows. If you would like to park on Friday gates will open at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to come in and park, however because there is a race going on that night there is a $10 per person admission fee. If anyone arrives late on Friday night they can hang along the entrance road and about 11pm or so they can come in at no charge. If you would rather wait till Saturday the entry fee will be $35 for the drivers and $20 for crew on Saturday (Paid Program on Saturday Night) and $15 on Sunday to be paid at the gate. The MASGA fee can be paid to Leanne at Lucky’s trailer. Please also remember that Saturday night all racers and crew are welcomed over to Uncle Buck’s and the Donhauser trailer for a free BBQ dinner. If you have any questions please visit our website www.midatlanticsupergas.com, or MIR at www.mirdrag.com or e-mail Leanne at leanneluciano@hotmail.com.

Default Re: MASGA invades MIR on Sept 25th & 26th

Some Questions were brought up over the past few weeks about our race this weekend at Maryland International Raceway. First off, even though MIR is an IHRA track, we do not require any IHRA membership or chassis certification to race. If you are current with NHRA, you are alright for MIR. Also because Saturday is a booked in show and the entry fee for spectators is $20.00 Leanne has a $ 5.00 off coupon for anyone who would like it. Please e-mail her at leanneluciano@hotmail.com for the coupon.

Hope to see LOTS of NEW FACES and LOTS of REGULARS down there, we are looking for 2 great races and no R%$N! So start doing your dances now!
