I think it's a wonderful idea in theory. But I have several concerns: 1) it relies on a great supply of clean electricity, something that is often in short supply in a race car, 2) it's a blade (as opposed to disc) stop, I thought the TS6 disc was supposed to be the best choice.
I'd also love to know if anyone has tried it and how it works.

Looks very interesting, I would be very curious to find out how it works from someone that has actually used it.

I also find this interesting. But I can't find anything on the internet about this other than someone noted on an old forum on nitromater.com that it was very accurate. Apparently has been around for a couple years. The guy said he read about it in Drag Racing Action magazine in the May issue of 2008.
I keep alot of those old magazines, so I'll look for it tonight and see if I can find anything on it. Thanks, Brad Rose Rose Racing Team |

I looked through my dad's old magazines and he doesn't have a copy of the May 2008 Drag Racing Action magazine.
I am interested in seeing this throttle stop work though. My guess is that since this throttle stop has been around for 2 years and can't find anyone running it (or information on it) - that it must not work very good. Brad |

I don't think it even exists. There was an Autometer ad for it a couple of years ago in National Dragster right after Autometer bought out Dedenbear. I found it interesting that you could set the open and close rates through the box instead of adjusting an air needle. Here is the patent for it...
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7487758.html Maybe in testing it never worked. Last edited by Average Joe; 07-21-2010 at 02:08 PM. |

Looking into it further, I'm quite sure you're right. Jegs shows it as "4 days" which is Jegs-speak for "we'll order it from the manufacturer". And it's not on Dedenbear's web site: http://dedenbear.com/thrtl_cat.htm
So I think you're right.
