ASRA vs ECSSS Race
To the man in charge of ASRA:
I think it would be cool to have the ASRA racers go up against the EAST COAST STK/SS guys. We pay $170. for a Divisional Race, maybe we can pay $125. with a nice pay-out for EVERYONE....... No heads up races either..... Maybe you can even set it up as Stk vs Stk and Super Stock vs Super Stock. If you got the car count that is. Then those 2 winners can square off for" King of the Hill"....... Whatya Think. Pistol Pete 1374-Stock |

Re: ASRA vs ECSSS Race
That would be a cool thing for sure Pete. Both groups have great racers in them. The only difference between them is ASRA has heads up races while ECSSSA is strictly dial in. Myself I love the heads up races but that would have to be worked out between Dave and the ASRA board.

Re: ASRA vs ECSSS Race
Pete,
ASRA is governed by 6 elected directors George Mirza, Bob Broadbent,Howard Hogg, Don Fardie, Dan Mistretta, and myself. Your suggestion has been discussed many times and the main issue is always scheduling. I am sure Dave Ley will tell you that the hardest part of organizing these associations is scheduling. There is just so much going on between holidays, tracks schedules, division schedule, national schedules, other special races etc, that it is hard to add anything. I wish it wasn't this way. When ASRA started in the 1980's, we had 8 races per year and it was easy to schedule them. Now we have 6 races and it is very hard to get them all in. That's my take on it, wish it was easier, we would love to have a "vs" race

Re: ASRA vs ECSSS Race
Dave
Out of the 3 tracks i checked for availabilty, them being: Atco, Englishtown & Maple Grove. Atco has the best chance. Saturday Oct. 30th They have nothing going on. Englishtown you can only run on Sunday with open headers. Maple Grove seems to be booked up. At least if you run on a Saturday, you can still make it to work on Monday. Maybe if we can get some small sponsers to put up a few bucks, we could have a nice payout. Pistol Pete 1374- Stock |

Re: ASRA vs ECSSS Race
Why not schedule it for this date?
It's the weekend before the LVD divisional, 3 hours North of LVD? 10K USD? Makings for one heck of a "road-trip" Napierville Dragway Northeast National Open Well guys I am making it official as we are putting up the second half of the money for the Stock/Super Stock combo June 25th to the 27th. There will be a guaranteed 10K USD purse for first place finish this year (5K USD last year with same criteria) with a minimum of 48 cars (not much too ask considering the purse). Napierville Dragway is a wonderful facily with all the amenities , hotels near by and a cantene ready to serve you at all times. This notification should give most of you enough time to get your passports in order, I know crossing the border is never any fun but we do it all the time to go down there and play with you guys so please take this meet into consideration you won't be dissapointed. We want you guys to come up and enjoy our home track as we do for you, it is one of the best kept secrets of Division 1, all the guys that usually make the trek have a blast on or off the track and you have more time trials than you could ever imagine. I look forward to seeing positive feedback on this post as only good can come out of this for all parties involved (Owner/Drivers, Napierville Dragway and NHRA). Website: www.napiervilledragway.com Note: Hotels near by are posted on their site as well. Thanx. |
