That's a nice car-the qualifying sheet says that it is a guy from CT-didn't recognize the name-but it could be someone who has gotten back in after time out of racing-the car ran 536 under-not bad for a first time out.

That 273 235hp motor in the '65-6 Valiant was a great little stocker back in the day.....a friend ran a '66 Valiant convertible 235hp stick car that really turned some heads in Div. 1 in late '60's.....good to see one out there again....WJ

The valiant signet is now factored at 210 HP for the 4 barrel combo.

I don't see his SS car on the sheet. Did he not run the car? Why not?

Jared,

They had a problem with the engine on Thursday testing. I think is was minor, but they could not get it fix for the race. They did run some low 9.30's, but I do not know what class they were going to run. I assume they would have been in SS/CA or SS/DA, its a 2008 CJ

Just for the record -- During the time I spent at Atco this past weekend it was a first -- not one single drop came down while I was there -- maybe all of last years' rain problems are past us............and yes , I've made up with the rain Gods -- we're going to have a terrific season for sure .Saturday and Sunday were what Bob Frey would have described as perfect "Chamber of Commerce" days -- sunny and blue skies -- if you didn't show up -- well you missed out for sure .....................you'll have another chance in a few weeks .

I noticed a few pics of the Pa.-based, Howard Barsky '57 Chev. 2dr. white, SS/NA station wagon.....SS qual. sheet said "283 Chevrolet". Is that a 2x4 barrel motor combo, or??? Great looking racecar....seems I remember seeing it at Nat. events a long time ago....Anyone? Thanks. WJ

Yes it is a 2x4, and a very fast one at that!
