10.90 Car base settings and help
We are setting up a car to run 10.90 and could use a little help with base settings.
Will run about 9.20 flat out and will be running super street. We run a mega 450 and will be shifting on time with a Turbo 400. Stop rpm is already set at 4200 Looking for help with timer settings as this is the first time shifting on time or any explanation of exactly how this would work with a 3 speed Thanks Harry |

Most likely you will want to leave the line, shift the car then go on the stop, i would say about shifting 1.00 out and turning the timer on at 1.20 and off about 3.00 out RPM I would try where you got it but eventually you may want to go down to about 4000. That should be kind of close.....maybe try to save some cash ad get away from the 3 speed, it will be WAY more consistent. Thanks, Chris DePascale S/C 1153....Addicted Racing Jad153@aol.com |

Chris,
Thanks for the advice--a glide would be so much better but it is a customers car so I only have so much say--lol Car weighs 3650 lbs so a 400 is what should be in it Car has been 9.39 foot braking and now he wants to try 10.90 He also has a T/S car so was looking for something else to do at the divisionals--lol I will plug those settings in and go from there. I, myself run brackets --what can you recommend as a delay--if it needs it for the .500 pro tree to get him started? Thanks' Harry H & J Motorsports |

Hey Harry,
I am still waiting for the price on the Superwinch for my trailer. Just so everyone knows H & J Motorsports has a pretty big inventory of high performance parts. They are usually cheaper than many mail order warehouses. Harry, you should post your phone # and website. Asta |

If this car is for NHRA and he has a T/S car also, you might try setting up for 9.90 He can't run 10.90 and any other class in NHRA!

So what was the outcome? How did it run and did he like it?

Well I guess when I go away for a few days I have to put a vacation request in with "King Asta"---god forbid we all do anything with out notifing him first--YOU SUCK JOHN---LOL
BTW-- I will drop off your winch tomorrow. Chris---My customer finally got to the track this past weekend--due to how violent the car is leaving we put the stop on at .20 and even that was a little inconsistant. Moved the "on" number a little more sooner and playing with the timer to find the sweet spot--right now the 2-3 shift is at 7100 rpms on time and the numbers are starting to make sense and repeat I believe he is in the 10.77-10.80 range @ 145 and ran out of time for another run this past Sunday but is getting a handle on it-- BTW --his kid will be driving the super street car and he is driving the t/s car. Thanks again for the help. And u still suck ASta--lol |
