Just watched the live link from vegas. Jeggie's Challenger struggled to do a burn out on maiden pass and was backed off track.

Been there done that one on my last Stocker .......all I did was make a small change (or so I thought) on my fuel map down low. Motor bogged down so bad it wouldn't spin the tires in water! Did a couple dry squirts......Staged and made the run anyway.......was hardly any different on the track.....

I loaded up my LT-1 Firebird and drove 175 miles to Lebanon Valley for the Lucas race in 2006 I think it was. Had no tune-up other than getting it started at home and annoying the hell out of my neighbors. Never made a lap before that event. Was even unaware I had a reverse pattern valve body trans. untill I rode around the pits a few times. Man first feels lazy.....Oh, thats 3rd dummy!!! Tried tuning it some at the track.......Car went down the track to a blistering 11.66...........I tried some things and was annoying those around me in the pits.....Had an old buddy tell me I shouldn't be whipping out my laptop every 5 minutes and messing with the EFI......Made another run....It was slower. Fuel failed and it was fresh!...Bought new fuel and a new jug.....drained the gas out of the car. Came close to starting a nasty fire in my haste. My good friend Tom Goldman told me a couple things and they were proved true on the first 2 runs.....Live and learn.....Well I was on the sheet and decided to just try to have fun. Pulled into the lanes for rd 1.....fuel pump fuse blows as I am rolling up to find my competition......Try more fuses.....they all blow......Tell the folks in charge I am toast and manage to get back to my trailer.....Remove pump for inspection......junk. Load up and find some cold beer............Learned shortly after that event I had the injector firing order set wrong in my Accel Gen VII unit. I knew it sounded like a boat!!! I was able to tip someone else off about this mistake some time later.....I recognized the sound when he made a run.

So I know all about stuff like this and I have lots more stories going back 40+ years. Some are funny, some are not.....All of them are due to a somewhat insane desire to do well at drag racing. Most of us have this disease. Some worse than others. I call it "race fever". There is no cure....

I was a lot more ambitous when I was younger but never in a position to plan or attempt anything like Mr Drooze......
The time for posting and Twittering is about done......
Good Luck Mr Drooze....

Hmmmm.....I think I have a pretty positive plan.

We (and this is a TEAM effort , me and my Dad, I just do the talking for both of us WE are the FIRST car since last year , OTHER Than Couglin to be track ready and he got his car a month or so before us ? And has everyone else doing his work......

So I dono, I like our plan it worked well SO Far. I had 14 months to formulate it. (Zeee plan, zat had to beeee in place before zeee germans get here

But seriously.....I like our plan....Ive had to adjust it for my son and fathers hospital detour, but that was what was important, not the car at that point. (Even though my dad tried to get me to leave the hospital and go work at the shop)

Were still gonna be lucky to make Pomona running right, look at Coughlin ?!? Not like he hasnt had the best and brightest working on it......and well shtufz happens, like bob said there be gremlins to be found. Ive got a wicked hammer to correct them but.....well see....ANYTHING is possible between Atlanta, Texas and Pomona I am very well aware of that. Im pretty damm good at logistics....

On the Road to Atlanta now.......Be there tommorow.....

More dyno and ready out to Texas.....

Cheers

(In response to someone elses post I DO expect all the response and it DOES help immensly, it helps my thought process and has on a technical side led me to the "right" solution on many things, any (and there really are very few) personal attacks or negative energy directed at me, is food for thought then motivation.

BUT 90% of all of the responses and viewpoints expressed I give serious consideration to even if I dont agree or follow. This site has been a BOON in terms of Contacts and Resources like none other that I have come across......

It and the majority of the people who post are a credit to the sport and the info here a gold mine.

Cheers all time to grab some food.....

(Oh and whoever said 16-20 hrs a day , I appreciate it, but 16 hrs I do....20 I cant ,gotta sleep and eat.....and post to class racer..

I REALLY Hope Couglin gets the gremlins squashed....

He amazes me in the ability. To focus on 2 seperate projects and cars at the same time at the level he does.....The DP Would seem to me to be a distraction, guess thats why they call em PROS....

Not too bad.

Today (around 1) We leave for Atlanta, roll in around midnight, there tommorow am for the High Speed dyno pulls, were having a "guest" vereran racer from the area I am looking very forward to meeting. Leave Frid night or Sat AM 12 hrs to Tx......Test Sunday Leave Sunday put about 6-8 hrs under of the 24 hrs I need to get to Pomona, Monday another 12-15, and Tue the balance, roll in on Wed Am or Tue late depending.

Its not like Im driving to Asia via the Bearing Strait.....

Its not bad to drive when you have good company to ride with I guess.

It is what it is.....there is no option so why worry or complain for me ? It just got to be done.....simple.

7 days is a week.....there are 168 hours in that or 10080 minutes....Seems like more than enough time to me

Rich - This has got to be one of the longest running soap opera's in Stocker history . Almost 200 posts and some are not sure if this will turn out to be a Cinderella story or a giant hoax . In a few days I'll be sure to let folks know ....................

Hi Jack..........I agree.....I will be looking forward to reading your reports and seeing pictures. I know everyone else will be as well. Good luck and I'm jealous.......Hopefully the sun will shine and it will be warm.....

It's all just in fun.....If this guy Drooze makes it apparently his efforts will have been worth it. Talking about every detail is the issue some of us have.....Like arnold says.....JUST DO IT........

If your going to post endlessly on a website I'm thinking your totally open to comments from the peanut gallery..........and your looking for feedback otherwise you wouldn't be posting in the first place......
