Question 82-92 Camaro steering box questions

Did ANY 82-92 Camaro /Firebird come from the factory with MANUAL STEERING or was Power Steering Standard equipment on ALL cars???? If they did indeed come with MANUAL steering what/which models had MANUAL steering and does anybody have either the GM part number or the Hollander interchange number???? Thanx comp 387

Power steering was standard equipment during those years. You can use a manual box out of a mid 80's S10 pickup.

OK what pitman arm and centerlink do you use to get the correct steering or do you use the original Camaro stuff??? Comp 387

I just used the S10 pitman arm and used the Camaro centerlink.

It's not too bad. The S10 box is not as quick ratio as the Camaro one though. I wouldn't go back to p/s if I ever decide not to race anymore and reregister it for street use.

I used a chevy Monza manual box once and it woked fine too. They are sorta the same family of platforms.

the S - 10 box works fine. The "slow" ratio makes steering easy.
