Default Fuel filter/fuel pressure

Sbc quadrajet system. Fuel filter yes or no(poured fuel is filtered to cell)and max fuel pressure. In my case 7.5lbs pressure and before and after pump filter. I'm considering no filters and 5.5lbs pressure.

As SGSST109E stated, Stainless mesh filter element and in addition to fuel pressure, measure the volume of fuel you get in 1 minute.

With the small bowl of the QJ, you want to verify you have sufficient fuel feed to keep the bowl full during the launch and acceleration. Static fuel pressure is not enough to guarantee you will have enough fuel feeding the carburetor. Have seen many times the fuel pressure in carbureted cars fluctuate during acceleration due to fuel slosh in the tank or not enough/too large fuel line size.
