No debate here, without evidence..I don't save a bunch of old junk.
I would defer to Travis Miller..Hope he sees this.

Thinking about this..I know R,T, U were the same breaks in 1979.
But we know Steve Tarrance ran X/ Stock with a 6 banger...So assume W could have been at least a 6...Don't remember about the V8's then.

Several Pontiacs on that list !
Besides the '68 Birds of Truman Fields & Mike McKinney, I see at least 4 more Pontiacs I recognize. (1) Rock Running - '71 Lemans - "Super Sleeper" (2) Mick Leiferman - '73 GTO (3) Ray Stover - '70 GTO - "Kathy's Clown" (4) Greg Shekell - '74 GTO Last edited by oldskool; 08-26-2021 at 11:43 AM. |

I remember reading the history of some cars on the Best Pontiac Powered Stockers thread, which included maybe a half dozen or so different owners/drivers. There is so much info in that thread, I couldn't hope to remember it all. I was just going thru a few pages this morning, & read some stuff I'd forgotten. Even read where some had re-posted some info, which they could tell I'd already forgotten. So, the history of this car may have been posted somewhere back in that thread. If anybody here knows of such info, please post a link to it. I didn't know MOST of these cars/drivers. Never even heard of many of 'em, prior to the Pontiac Stockers thread. So, I've probably learned more from the thread than most here. It's been fun ! ![]() Last edited by oldskool; 08-26-2021 at 06:50 PM. |
