Default How much horsepower for a 402 Chevrolet BB

Just curious we run a 1971 402 big block Chevrolet in our stocker and was wondering if I can get an opinion from knowlegeable engine guys. How much horsepower do you think is a reasonable number for our engine?
The achilles heel of our engine is the flat intake manifold that looks like the fuel has to run uphill at one point. We have the 820 casting cylinder head. Thanks

Give Chris Hardy a call. He's very knowledgeable and can help you with your setup.
Plus he's in Michigan as well. 231-740-5862

Just guessing I would say 480. The 70 402 350 HP low rise intake makes right around 500 HP @ 6300 RPM.
