2004 Jerico DR4 with 2.83 1st gear
After seeing that a new Jerico is going to cost me $4,700.00, it looks like I won't be able to keep this one !
Has about 60 runs on it, with a 530 horse engine, and a relentlessly slipping clutch. No issues at all... works perfectly. Simply not enough torque multiplication for my heavy car. 2.83, 1.94. 1.33 ratios. Transmission alone... need $2,000, firm.

Re: 2004 Jerico DR4 with 2.83 1st gear
Aubrey, rather than selling your current Jerico DR4 and buying a DR4-4, just to get better gearing, why not just regear you trans? Before I bought my 2nd Jerico, I "borrowed" the Jerico from my bracket car, for my Mustang Stocker, which had a 2.93 low gear, and my buddy changed the 2 main drive gears, which gave me a 3.19 low, and cost about $300.00 for parts. It also changed the 2nd and 3rd ratios a bit, but it worked fine for my car.

Re: 2004 Jerico DR4 with 2.83 1st gear
A few reasons, Rory...
I 'm looking at making quite a change, possibly as much as 3.17. The engine has an unusually broad torque curve, so a wide spread between gears, would work fine. This would mean changing at least 3 gear sets. Another reason, is that I'm paranoid ! This transmission works flawlessly as is. I'd be worried about "disturbing" it, and having something that maybe doesn't work perfectlly. My own mistake. I simply ordered the wrong gear ratios for my car. For a light car.... it's perfect. BTW, I should mention... This particular transmission uses GM 26 spline input, with the large GM M22 / TH 400 size output. The case and configuration replaces a regular GM Muncie M22 or B/W Super T10.

Any idea what would need to be changed to configure the trans to fit a 1965 Mustang? Are the tailhousing and output shaft length the same? |

No idea, Mark.
Bolts in as a standard Chevrolet, so it may not be right for a Ford !

Of course !
Don't want to commit to the $4700.00 one, until this one is sold.
