Default One More Time, Between Race Set Up

What are you guys doing between races, especially when they are weeks apart, for normal "set up" preperation-----like Marvel Mystery down the carb etc and in the fuel cell--------I understand the MM oil damages the plugs........what are you guys doing ?????

Rusty,

Use good old ATF and fog the motor when you have loaded it into the trailer...While the engine is running, pour some ATF fluid into the carb til it starts to smoke out the rear and then shut- down the engine...It works everytime...........I sure there are other idea's out there ??
Dave,

All we ever did was drain the fuel cell, change the oil and inspect the filter unless we were tearing down the engine. This was a 850 hp 400 and never had a problem even when it sat for a few weeks. It wasn't a s/st car obviously.

Run the fuel out of the carb and lines.
Cover the carb.
Plug the headers from moisture.
Drain water out of block. (depends how long between races)
Changed oil and filter every 15-20 runs.
Trickle charge batteries.

Glad to hear the carb worked well and picked you up.
