As usual someone seems to get off the point of the post. The question was, has anyone used it?, Did they see any gains? What was the cost? I've never used any types of these treatments, I've also never had any issues with gear sets, however in the quest to find every last hundreth I would certainly consider trying it. Joe

Micronite was developed here in NJ. Tested on some prominent big block modified cars and comp cars. Company was purchased by Crane. Everyone knows the Crane story. ALL the equipment is in Florida. Either it is being used by Crane now or sitting in a warehouse.
Several of those involved in testing have inquired with intent purchase some of the Micronite equipment but have not been successful. The process is multi directional. You all have seen the polished cranks that look chromed but are not. Depending on the intended purpose the aggressiveness of abrasives and fluids added or not are determined. The "chrome" look is a multistage process. Basically the high points which act like sand paper are removed while the valleys are retained which hold lubricant. As stated like a good cylinder hone. In the early testing on big block modified rear gear sets: longer life and much lower operating temperatures. Less heat = less horsepower loss. Mark Williams provides a similar treatment. Although the REM process is also a tumbling process many of their machines are directional. May not be as good. But again it is the abrasive and fluids added along with speed and time which determine the process. Work with a company who has developed processes for the parts you would like treated. Research Isotropic Finishing. My own experience: Did a set of small block Chevy oil pump gears. Getting heat into oil was difficult in cooler weather. Never an issue hot lapping in the heat. Rear gears are street gears that have been in the car for 3 seasons with 4-500 runs on them. Will let you know as the cover has not been off but will very soon. You're riding "the" fine line on advertising !!! (on this sight) laughing! The point is Cryo/ Rem, and Mikronite, processes work. They're well excepted. Improve part life. And increase performance. It's not black magic anymore. As a matter of fact, I promise you, many of your competitors are using it, and, have seen performance increases. JB

Come on big spender, you grossed me out for not wanting to spend 125.00 to replace my perfectly good window net calling it "a drop in the bucket" now you're balking at spending 100.00 to purchase something that may actually improve your cars performance? Exactly what class is E by the way? Joe
