I think that little Rambler is gonna win out isn't it? You do have a good point, as much as I want to build something unique, I don't want to waste a good effort on something that won't be that much fun. I never thought a slow car would be that inconsistent. Glad I am finding this stuff out now!
Don't go away Ed, you're helping a ton! |

I was kidding about W/SA. Thanks for all the info, I think I know what to build now. It's still cool to see the different combinations and how they come about.

I have to agree with Mark about the Aspen but don't close the case yet. Mark, he has a clean body to start with. Where are you going to find a decent Aspen? Maybe in your backyard but not in mine. The 200 motor isn't showing the correct factor in the guide. We were looking for a place to play with a Mustang some time ago and got that factor changed to 115 based on a paper mistake. The man to talk to is Dave Ley. At 115 it is a V car and again he has one.

Iraceitall, hang around this board long enough and you'll realize that if you ask 100 S/SS racers a question you'll get 100 different answers. You can pick the best combo, you can pick a combo that you have or you can pick a car for it's emotional attachment. What I'm getting at is to pick a combo that you have the means to finish and have fun with it. As you learn the "ropes" you can make your own decisions.

Hi Dave, I haven't looked but when I last spoke to Dave Ley about it I was assured that during the next update (the last AHFS changes) it would be taken care of. We aren't going to do anything with the car so I haven't kept up with it.

Dave yes they do @ one time the 307 chevy had a .002 deck hight for all year but 71 in witch it had a .020 deck hight? it's now .002 like all the rest. mine & Billys car also had the wrong intake for years that's now fixed too. oh & everytime a new piston is approved for a 283 I have to email & get it approved for the 230 also as they use the same piston!
