Johnny and I first met Jimmy in I believe it was 1969. We were two underachievers who wanted to race and didn't know sh--. We borrowed some money and got him to build an engine. On Mondays after a race, I'd always call him with questions and to get his advice. He always had time to talk to me. Every year I'd look forward to visiting Jimmy and Margaret and going with him to the PRI show when it was still in Orlando.
He was a great engine builder and racer, but more importantly a great friend. He will be missed. George Peterson |
