I've been curious about this for a long time.
I believe that for a drag racing tire there would be little or no advantage to a wheel larger than 15 inches. Taller side walls would work better for the launch. I think. Hard to say about top fuel. Now why are passenger cars going around on 20+ inch wheels? I remember an engineer stating that for a street driven car there was no advantage to a wheel over 19 inches. The math just did not work out according to him. Loren |
