Radiator?

I'm looking at an aluminum single core with plastic tanks. Anyone have any experiences to share? Post here or PM. Thanks!

My opinion is that is they are good for an OEM application, they should work on a drag car.

Single core is fine. Mine has aluminum tanks

Aluminum tank radiators are a much better choice . Structurally stronger ,
[important for wheelstand cars] and safer ,the tanks cant blow off due to a blown head gasket .
I use a lot of Champion radiators , they have a good selection of direct fit radiators for most applications . and their prices are reasonable .

1986 C10 Chevy 4.3 V 6 truck came with plastic ends on a cross flow single core aluminum radiator. Very lite and last time I bought one not to bad of price.

Depending on the vehicle, a replacement stock radiator may be aluminum construction, even if OE equipment was not. When I needed a new radiator for my Ford 5.0 FOX body car, the rad the local parts store carried was a light, aluminum with plastic tanks version, even though the original was all brass construction. I simply asked for a stock replacement rad for a 5.0 Mustang, and thats what they gave me. It fit perfectly in the original brackets, it cools just fine, and has a wide, single core.Plus the price was very good. It has been in the car(s) for well over 10 years, and has worked very well, even with good wheelstands thrown into the mix.

Champion radiator is hard to beat. Direct fit, and cost effective.

Been using a stock replacement aluminum with plastic tanks on my 3rd gen Camaro for over 20 years. Came from Advance with a lifetime warranty. I changed it out once for the crappy petcock leaking from winter drain and refills. I JB'd the petcock on the new one and put a drain in the lower hose.

Special thanks to Alex & Tony Denysenko & many of us got on the list to lobby N.H.R.A. to allow Ford`s replacement/superseded for Fox body Mustangs. I do still have a 3-core brass one on the shelf like new.
