Probably would want a steel crank with a stick though.

Cool I will put spacers in an early 360 and use a 318 crank. I dont think spacers are approved for stock.

Didn't mean to open up a can of worms but aren't most bowtie blocks large journal blocks? How do they run a 3" stroke crank in them to make them a 265 or 283?. I went through tech in 2019 with my 265 made from a 305 block and the tech guys noted it had side mounts and I told them what i had done. It was ok then?

My understanding of that rule is you can't run smaller journals the what the intended combo came with. If you're running a 265 crank in a 305 block, journal sizes are still "stock".

As a newbie myself, while a rule book is great, you also need specific info for your combination. Visit the classracerinfo.com site and it will give specific parts and part #'s for some things you asked about.
