Re: In search of Jerico Parts
That is an interesting article regarding the "new" S30 machine that can completely build a mainshaft in about 15 minutes. I bet in no more than a day they could satisfy all there old customers that own DR-4's.

Re: In search of Jerico Parts
Thats just part of the process, after the part is machined it will need to be heat treated and then finish ground to size

Re: In search of Jerico Parts
I wonder if any of the DR-4.4 parts can interchange with a DR-4. One would think they aren't that different and with some modification you could use new stuff to save an older transmission.
Just very hard to believe they can't build and stock key pieces for an already popular unit. From reading the articles posted they have the ability just not the will given the new owners don't appear to be interested in Drag Racing.

Re: In search of Jerico Parts
I talked to Jerico about a new case and they told me that I needed a case, top cover and a reverse idler and all the rest of the parts from my DR4 would work in the new case.

Re: In search of Jerico Parts
I could possibly seeing them not supporting the very very early narrow gear units but in my opinion they are making a mistake abandoning the rest of the DR-4 units. Mine is a 6 lug wide gear unit with a Winston case which was purchased just before they discontinued them. I would hardly call it obsolete as I was told they are, by Jerico.
Good thing I kept the three speeds as that is what is going back in once this one breaks. |
