I was back on the phone again this past weekend, following up on some possible leads from the east coast, NY area taxing some peoples memories. I tried the Manhattan Speed, Charlie Castaldo 3rd Dart, & silver Hemi Dart avenues. No luck on any. currently looking for a Pete Pearson? I believe from the NY area originally. He is supposed to have a boat charter ?. Anyone here know dis guy? Could be Conneticut also? Paul, who is Al Ripolla? liteweight ![]() Last edited by Liteweight; 12-08-2014 at 11:05 AM. |

Charlie, you probably know your post of the Jack Thomas car 4 up that the orange dart in this last post are the same car. Owned by Race Hemi historian Dick Towers at the time this pic was taken alongside our dart. Geoff Stunkard photo. Dick always got a kick out of the fact our two cars are consecutive VIN/assembly #s. Miss that guy.

Did NOT occur to me they were one in the same. I look smart by accident way more times than by design! ![]() |

Daryl,
Are you sure you didn't mean 'Pete Preston'. He was a pretty good racer back in the mid-late 60's. He set the 1967 C/SA National Record with his 1962 Plymouth 'Sport Fury' {361/305 HP} lettered 'Heartbreaker II" |

The Jack Thomas/ Dick Towers LO23. For those that didn't know Dick was instrumental in putting together the all time greatest All Hemi Reunion in 2008. None were finer before. never to be equalled. I echo Marfen's statement. I miss that guy. A quick story on Dick. .... For this reunion in 08 he asked me to look after his Dart for the weekend as he was kinda "occupied" with the show. I was truly honored to be handed this "job". A GREAT, GREAT man , that absolutely lived for these lightweight cars. RIP my friend
![]() For those in the "I didn't know that" catagory. The little white Dart above is my buddy from next province over, Dave McDade. One of the 3 current residing LO23's in Canada. This ones an original stick car to boot. Dave painstakingly did the footwork in tracing it's roots & found them. The result is below. Love that car D!!!! Sorry for the small pic. I can't find a full size of it....Hint,Hint, Hint ![]() liteweight Last edited by Liteweight; 12-11-2014 at 01:01 PM. |
