IHRA rules state: "Pure Stock entries may utilize OEM unleaded blends meeting the rulebook specifications." It does NOT say that you can use anything you want. It is NOT an open invitation to use ERC, Nitromethane, Methanol, Propylene Oxide, or anything else not on the accepted fuels list.

pump gas only and for what reason would we not be checked

Did you see any improvement over pump gas?
Talked to several racers and depending on their ride say Pump Gas works better than Race gas.
Usually they have Low Compression Engines.

I can see the High Octane working better for High Compression Engines.
Read conversations of one type being better than another.

Hence the many questions on the forums.
Everyone has been stung by Tech at one time.
Vast majority of issues are honest mistakes.
