Thomas Arnett runs one of his 200's in his big block '69 Camaro Stocker...best pass so far is a 9.89 I believe.

IF you are going to run a metric in a heavier car,(3600lbs.and up) i would spend the extra $300. or so and get the good bellhousing put on it from the start.

Mark,
Would there be a disadvantage to using a 200-4R transmission which has a much stronger case?
Jim

The 200-4R is about 50 lbs heavier, and the overdrive gearset would add some inertia. Overdrive is .67 ratio, which is a bit too much to race with, but can be switched out to a .72 ratio from a Strassburg built 4 speed version of a 180-C . There are some performance parts available, but the main one to get is a new Forward Clutch Drum assembly. The production one will snap off the spline on the input shaft. Aftermarket shafts have cured that problem.
