Did you replace the front end parts due to damage or just to be on the safe side? I was wondering how much abuse the stock stuff would take. I would think the lower control arms are pretty strong but that the tie rods might not be.

Hope it's fixed soon.
I had a similar wheel stand one year at the gatornationals. I took the wheelie bars off to save some weight. Went sky high and dragged the back valance on the ground. it unloaded the back tires when they came off of the ground and the car started toward the guardrail and I had to lift. I had to replace the lower A arms all of the ball joints and bushings. It knocked the headlights out of the car and tore the radiator from its mounts. smashed the oil pan and the headers. It also chipped the paint along the quarter panel similar to Larry's car. The guy which was a friend of mine redlighted in the other lane so I won that round. I managed to find the parts I needed at a local bone yard and NAPA and we put the car back together for the next round the next day. I learned my lesson on the wheelie bar thing and have never taken them off again.

The car is almost done. We plan on going to the door slammers to check out the car before we head out west.

I realized today what was worse than no national championship..... a hollow one!

220+ hours, three weeks of my life, new suspension parts, Ron Cunningham frame shop, Gary Jennings racecars, repaired oil pan repaired trans pan, two bent Bogart wheels, bent doors, bent fenders, new grill parts, and touch up paint applied daily. What a dummy. Oh I almost forgot and the reinstallation of my wheelie bars. Now if the wheelie bars are a problem I will just raise them out of the way.

I was just finishing up so I could go the local track and check out all of the work that had been done and then it started to rain. Maybe we can find a place to test this weekend before we head west.

Went to local track, Beacon Dragway, the car hooked hard and went straight they have stopped using VP traction compound and switched to VHT aka PJ1. The track is a real pleasure to race at, good food with a place to sit in A/C comfort and enjoy your meal. Very clean restrooms that are heated and have A/C.

We hope to have a combo race next year.

Hats off to Dr. Grow and Keith Murt for just a top notch place to race. If your close and need a place to race or just traveling through stop and check it out, as Jerry Bennett would say "I believe you'll like it".

A very special thanks to all the people that help me take my horseshoe of a car and get it fix so I can go racing again.

Larry
My "Hats off" to you. This late in the year most people would have taken the Cuda home and fixed it over the winter. But I guess the draw to head west was too much.
Great effort and I look forward to the great reporting on the remaining Autumn Leaf Tour.

It was fun at Beacon last night. Chris even got in the action and raced Keisha's Dodge Magnum in Street Trophy. Chris and Larry were both still in after the 2nd round and then the rains came!! I am afraid Chris might have gotten the racing bug again! His little girl Aubrey just turned 8, so we might even be seeing Jr. Dragsters in our future!!

Well we are back on the road again and "Live" from our Autumn Leaf Tour. After losing 3 weeks, and missing Columbus, St. Louis, and Noble we are ready to race again. We also had a couple of days worth of work to do on the motorhome, too, before we hit the road, so we didn't have time to get to Las Vegas for the Sportsnationals. So we went south back to Division 2 to Reynolds, GA. for their divisional race. We got here this afternoon and the grounds look wonderful. There are already lots of rigs here and parked. We just drove on in and they told us to go up and pay tomorrow! Really nice! We haven't been here but twice before and the last time we had the Private Lee here, so that was at least 9 or so years ago! We plan to do some testing tomorrow and then the race begins on Friday. The weather is supposed to be beautiful all weekend. About 80 during the day and 50s at night!

The rest of our tour (if all goes well) includes going from here to Vegas, with a couple of days at Mike and Paula's in AZ. Then on to Vegas for the national and divisional and then to Pomona.

More tomorrow--it's been a long day!

Thumbs up Re: "Live" from our Autumn Leaf Tour 2013

I was wondering if you were going to add Pomona onto the end of your tour. Good luck to you two,, hope all goes well.
