Found another entrant for A/SA at the 1969 Super Stock Nationals
1969 National Records A/S ....... 11.63 @ 121.29MPH A/SA .... 11.79 @ 120.52 MPH Eddie Taylor from Binghamton, New York - 1966 Belvedere Sedan '426 Street Hemi' (Post Car) A good artice about Eddie Taylor in June of 1969. His 1966 'A/SA' Belvedere 'Tri-Cities Hemi' was running 12.10's in early-1969 and then in June 1969 he put in a Tim Richard's (Scranton, Pennyslvania) built 727 Transmission. Quote, "We blew the Transmission at the Springnationals, so we decided to go with the best Transmission builder around in Tim Richards. I'm expecting expecting big things for the second-half of 1969, and I'm looking forward to the Super Stock Nationals at York, and the 'Big Stock Meet' at Maple Grove." The Belvedere {Sedan} was White with gold lettering '"Tri-Cities Hemi", and Fenton Shark Mag Wheels. Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 05-12-2013 at 02:18 PM. |

In 1969, the (1966 thru 1969 Mopar cars) that would qualify for 'A/SA' { 7.50 - 7.99 Wt/Hp } 1966 Plymouth Belvedere or Satellite ... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Coronet or Coronet 500 ..... {426 Street Hemi} 1967 Plymouth GTX .................................. {426 Street Hemi} Dodge R/T ....................................... {426 Street Hemi} 1968 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX ..... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Super Bee or R/T ............... {426 Street Hemi} 1969 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX ..... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Super Bee or R/T ............... {426 Street Hemi} Note; The 'lightest' of the '426 Street Hemi' B-Body cars, was the 1968 Road Runner (Pillared Coupe) at #3569 lbs., which factored in at (# 3569 lbs. ~ 465 HP) = 7.67 Wt/Hp Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 05-13-2013 at 09:42 AM. |
