Getting a very different vibe from the posts at Belle Rose this year.
Doesn't seem to be as upbeat as years past. Am I wrong ? That said have a safe race guys! Dan. |

Who won between Arts neon and Daniels dart over 4.5 seconds defference? Does Pat have anything to do with the track anymore? It was always on my bucket list to get there someday but now maybe not, Tom

OK, guys--as far as the protest and record goes-- I just put in quotation marks what Jeff asked me to post. As far as negative, there have been hours of downtime here when at a race that had proper equipment, we would have been up and running. Rain last night doesn't count. You can't do anything about Mother Nature. But since Pat doesn't own this track anymore (he is here trying to run things when they give him an opportunity), things have not gone nearly as smoothly. The grounds had been mowed this time. That was a plus over last year. Things do seem to be going better this afternoon. But then they run 2 rounds of TD, TS, and comp before going back to the other sportsmen.
Maybe since being on the road for 3 weeks, I am just anxious to go home and see my granddaughters! |

Since Pat is not the owner things were probably going to slide some. It's a shame. Pat always ran a first class race and had built the reputation to a very high level. I have been treated as well at some other tracks but never better.

That usually happens when someone else comes in and tries to improve on perfection. Pat knew how to run a racetrack. Pat's suggestions for this years race probably fell on deaf ears. Amazing how new owners always think they can do it better. Next years turnout may fall off some especially since they lacked the equipment to get the track back up and running in a timely manner.

I had planned on attending the June race, however who wants to go to Slick City? Our local track and Shreveport went through these problems with new owners. They no longer own the tracks. Currently Monroe hooks like crazy due to real racers becoming owners and not using the cheap stuff to prep the track with. It seems that every "new" owner thinks they can low ball it and get by. They finally learn that in order to attract racers they must bite the bullet and use the "good stuff" or lose a significant portion of the racers. Stockers and probably all high hp classes need the best stuff in order to be consistent. At one of the last races, I made at NO Problem I raised tire pressures up to 26#'s before I finally couldn't hook. It increased my MPH each # I reaised it. I sounds like you better start low and go lower to be consistent.
