The 'Taxi" had been raced in C/A by some fellows from Long Island in the late '70's early '80's .
Last I heard ,it had been crashed and destroyed street racing .

Those cars were already 5 years old when raced. Longer wheelbase met the then pound per cubic inch rule/weight breaks to a better advantage.

The Mustangs were 1970 model cars and the the Maverick was built as a 1972 Don Hardy built the car it was 2-door it was stretched to a 4 door in Wayne Gapps shop in Livonia Loui Wolsinki did most of the fab work.

At one point in time that car was street raced in the North Jersey area. At one point it had a Hemi in it!

The Glidden '70 Mustang was re-bodied with a later Mustang body. I believe it became the American Flyer car if I remember correctly?
The Gapp and Roush 4-door Maverick is alive and well in the Ramapo Mountain area of New Jersey, in the hands of an individual who prefers to be left alone. |

you are right about the American Flyer. Larry Sestack (spelling) ran it for awhile. Saw the 4 door Maverick running in Altered trim many times in Div. 1.
