Mark, I think Paul was referring to one of my earlier posts about the Kandi Kuda B029 '68 Hemi Barracuda which was sponsored by Northside dealership back then.

Do you remember what color or what the paint scheme looked like at the time on this '68 Hemi Dart you mentioned...

.

It was black and owned by two brothers who owned R&R Speed shop, one of them was named Horace I believe. They raced it in the IHRA and bracket raced it all around Alabama.

I arranged it's sale to a man in Concord NC who was buying up Chrysler factory race cars as an investment. When I visited him he had two Darts and an A990 Dodge and a bunch of aluminum body parts for 63 and 64 Max Wedge cars and a one off magnesium cross member for an AWB '65 car.

I don't know what happened to them after that.

Was his name Frank Spittle by any chance, he used to put on muscle car shootouts and reunions back then in the late 80's and 90's down there...as far as the 'black' 68 Hemi Barracuda you mention, the only one that comes to mind is Bullet Bob Reed's old car that he once owned.

No, I've met Frank and attended some of his meets. This guy's first name was Bill (not Bill Blair, I've raced with him too) and he lived in Concord NC. He was a Ferrari collector before he got into race mopars, he was strictly an investor, didn't race.

Jim, for some reason I gave you the wrong answer to your question because I was looking for some info & pics on Bob Reed at the time...so lets see, I'll try this again...nope, I do not know of any 'black' 68 Hemi Darts that sold from the Alabama or North Carolina area that you mentioned earlier, but I'm curious was it an auto or 4-speed Hemi Dart...you also said that this NC collector also had 1 Hemi Barracuda & 2 Hemi Darts as well, are there any more details that you remember about those ones.
