Yes I agree, Billy Stepp always had nice looking cars...his Challenger was later sold and raced by Brooklyn Heavy.

This may not be a race(or Class car), but the paint job is fantastic. This was at the Hunnert Car Pile Up.

This one is a "Class racer", Bob Harrison. This is the "recent" paint job. I believe it was done as close to the original as possible.
I have also added a pic of the the "early" paint job.

That's some cool stuff.
Totally the reason for this topic. The paint on the Billy the Kid car reminded me of what we called "torch" paint. Paint the base coat. Get a oxceytleen (spellng) torch burning black and just dust it over the color. Clear coat it to seal it and man did we think it was cool. I never was too much of a painter as a kid but sure had fun trying to figure out how all of the real painters did it. Last edited by Charlie A; 02-08-2012 at 09:17 PM. |

I think I have seen Bucky Hess on here once in a while. I would like to read his thoughts or see some of his work regarding this thread.

![]() I wonder if the Chevy II is the old CKC Racing funny car. Only three fastbacks were made they had the most success. JimR
