House of Darts, You mite get a hold of Mike Jeffrey, stock # one qualify at Topeka points meet with his 1980 Dodge Diplomat V/SA slant 6, -.990 under the index. 1980 motor mite be a little different than the 1964 slant 6. Tom

The 1980 is a 2 barrel set up. It will run the index just fine, Mike and I can run 1 second under, Most guy's are 40-50 under without the trick stuff.
The 3 tenths index change killed the 1 barrel combos. I'd have to go look at my old time slips but I think I was only good for about 20-30 under way back when I ran the 1 barrel.
When it's all said and done Marks mustang is the killer in this class and probably will be for a long time.

P.S If anybody want's to run the 2 barrel combo my engine is for sale. The old wagon has a 360 now.

2.3 turbo. He has the record at 1.25 under and I'm sure he'll admit to being able to go a bit better than that, Or maybe not, LOL

Back in the late 60's and early 70's I remember a Carter 2bbl being a fairly common factory built 225 6 cyl combo used in New York City taxicabs.

I believe the 2V was '77 to last year of slant production - '87.
