I have to go with the max wedge, few years ago Dave Wren was warming his "thrown together" car at Mission and I was absolutely mesmerized.

I was hooked on stock eliminator because of the radical sounds of the stocker grinds. One of my personal favorites was late 1980's @ Sanair, the Le Brun 427 A/SA Camaros. More recently Jim Boudreau BB '69 Camaro has a nasty growl to it.

I think the FI cars have the wildest sound, be it TPI305, 350 or LT1. They sound outrageous. My ZZ4 sounds pretty good too with it's square lobed hyd roller.

i agree with smitty on that lunati cam for a 351c. actually is a old ultradyne roller. we had it in our 351 mach 1 and we had both chevy and mopar guys saying it was the baddest sounding car in the pits. we have a comp cam now and it sounds docile. however it performs much better!

Next to the Max Wedge I think the Hemi A990 cars sound wicked and since it's basically the same body as the MW cars I wonder if the shape of the engine compartment doesn't have something with the harmonics.

The other Hemi cars just don't have the same sound to me.

Hi Jim, I never thought of that. A while back I commented to a SS racer as we watched the end of a stock session how great John Shaul's car sounded as he ran. Without blinking an eye he said your car sounds the same, I said wow, that's pretty cool, too bad it's not as fast. I was surprised to hear that though.
