I was considering doing that as well, I even cut up a extra emergency brake strut and welded it together with some 1/8 flatstock. It still didn't pass through the c-clip block/wheel cylinder opening very well. Perhaps, the Moser blocks are a little bigger than the rest? I am using 35 spline axles and went with the bigger bearing..

I was thinking of grinding the strut more.. Then, I thought it would compromise the strength of the strut too much. They look to be made of 1/4 steel and I guess a lot of pressure is applied to them when the e-brake is on..
