Congratulations. We will be checking you out on TV. We have run three of them and we were in at Bristol but blew the motor at Virginia. Those races are a lot of fun. Alot of spectators and the pits are busy day and night.

I had went 10.23 and 10.24 in white Monte. The bump was Bill Wallace with the Capri at 10.27 and the slowest was 10.50. I was close but no cigar. Got into wheelie contest and blew the tires off.

Congratulations to Rusty Hall! I was there,on the start line,in the pits,& til the end. We as a group of racers (stock / superstock racers) could not have asked for a better rep for our type of racing. He wasTHE ONLY class car there. He got picked. He got more potential television coverage than ANY OTHER class ALL YEAR! including the world champs & Indy winners.
I do not want to diminish others accomplishments but what Rusty did will be big for us. It will let average joes know what a aa/sa stock eliminator car is & does. the ending is HUGE HIGH DRAMA i cant give away but lets just say the winner was preordained by god to win. My only complaint was the FACT that the winning car should not have been there because it slipped through tech. This car was running 10.40s with STOCK 4 lug axles with an 8.8 rear end! BIG TIME RISK @ an event "where safety is our biggest concern" as said by Rich Christiansen him self! All in All a great time and my hat is off to you Rust Hall you made us all proud to know you be there cheering you on and we would all do it again in a heartbeat. P.S. the episode is scheduled to air in january. stay tuned however i heard multiple times this weekend that this is the last one... ever. |

Aspen, apparently there has been some slip-ups at tech in these last few races. I saw a show last week, I believe, where a car was selected for the 32 car, had gotten through without a roll bar for the et he was running in and was removed from competition at the starting line.
I too have heard that this may be the last year. I have heard that NHRA is expanding their Unleashed, similar to Pinks All Out, program next year to 12 or 14 races. |

For sure they didnt catch everyone in tech. The problem was that cars with bars claimed the F catagory which was 10.0 to 10.5. Yet they would run 9.90 s in the 2 time shots. I know of 4 cars that were not legal but slipped through the cracks. Didnt think it was a big deal. Hopefully like others said that with Rusty rep'ing the S/SS group that the show will emphasize what the car is and give class racing a booster shot.
