Doesn't this same conversation happen every year? IHRA lost a couple of tracks and now they are going under? Don't tracks come and go all the time? It's whatever sanctioning body tells them what they want to hear. You guys put way too much thought into rumors. What about Memphis, and Gateway? Is NHRA doomed now?

Actually talked to Mr. Earwood himself recently. He has had sitdowns with NHRA several times recently. And yes he is taking a lighter sanctioned schedule for 2011

What also has to be understood is that running under the NHRA banner costs a track much more (insurance is higher even on divisionals.). Also that NHRA is not centered in North Carolina as much as the IHRA crowd. There are a lot of 'x' factors in the equation which I think is why Mr. Earwood has decided to give IHRA at least one more year to straighten out the kinks that we all know exist. After that, the ball is in the air.

It seems that some tracks are switching sanctioning bodies all the time. How many times has VA switched ? Rockingham ?
After reading National Dragster and DRM for several years, I recall the switching scenario happened quite often. This is nothing new. Ron Ortiz U/SA ahra, nhra, ihra, adrl, independant associations, and now unleached

Joe,I try to keep it humorous but it's sad that if IHRA folds NHRA will have no competition.
I hate to think what would happen next. Nothing worse than being the only show in town. I really feel sorry to those who were left holding the bag when IHRA was sold to a little man who probably dresses in big shoes, with polka dot pants, orange hair and a big red nose. I think Compton dresses like that when he's all alone at home.Less the plastic red nose. If ya know what I mean.
