100 thou on a 7.3 ford or a Cummings is nothing these engines will go 300thou easily if they have been/are taken care of STAY AWAY from the Ford 6.0 or 6.4 NOTHING BUT EXPENSIVE MAJOR PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a V10 gas motor in a Ford is a good engine 5.4 is underpowered not enuf HP /torque there to move that weight-late model Dodge with a Hemi not too sure about most guys run the Cummins " The Duramax is a good engine but hard to find and pretty pricey if you find a truck with one in it-Its all about do you want to control the trailer or do ya want the trailer to control you"---You can use a 1/2 ton but it is not advisable brakes and suspension just cannot handle the load safely--Comp

What about the 250's or 2500's with a V8 Gas motor? finding the used v10's are not easy lol. what about the v6 cummins diesel's?

reading on here a bunch of guys pulling 24 foot enclosed trailers with GMC or Chevy 1500's.
