Guys, don't get your panties in a wad and just relax.
David is just getting the DPs together to discuss some things about the "FX" classes we will be competing in next year.

Junior, you would be better off buying an island in the Bahamas if you when the lottery! Of course you could have your own track to run your "new cars". LOL

Jeff, man you need a new cook book. The big TECH deal is much to do about nothing but math. David was just trying to save some DP racers from getting bounced on their cam lift because the rocker ratio is not 1.6 as advertised but more like 1.64. And before you start jumping around and tearing up your cooking books, there is only one source for rocker arms..Mopar. Dempsey found out the hard way. We just order the cams .010 short on lobe lift... and we don't need it anyway! LOL

Well thats more info than I wanted to give but I could see where this was heading... Goodnight everyone, sleep tight....err I mean sweet dreams.
If Tech checks your rocker ratio and its over the required spec. it dosent matter how much under the cam lift spec. you have.....You are still DQ'ed. As of now the spec is 1.6. Jeff T. found out the hard way earlier this year. If all thats avaliable is 1.64 Im sure NHRA will "Poop" out a new spec. to cover your Azz and protect the new cars.

That being the case, the only REAL solution is every one of these DP Challengers with a new Hemi needs to be parked until the issue is resolved. Right?
That or they all get DQ'd. That's the choices as I see it.

Or another racer could have Tech pull a rocker if a Drag Pak smoked them in a heads-up. That is within the rules, right? What would that run? $200 and you get most of it back?

Cool Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners

How many remember Jeff Warren being DQ'ed for using 1.6 rockers on his 69 Camaro stocker (350/255 HP) several years ago even though the cam checked OK at the retainer. He used a cam with less lobe lift to gain a quicker opening speed. Maybe some are to young to know anything about when this happened?

Talking Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners

My My My, aren't we all getting just a tad nasty here. I was going to post a reply to Jeff, Terry, Mike and Don but as I thought about it, why would I want to? What good would it do ? You guys are dead set against these cars and I don't blame you. For the record I do support having a "FX" class. You are so upset with them you can't even have a civil discussion about a minor(or major in your eyes) tech spec error. I do like your idea of having NHRA check the ratio of these factory rockers, infact I talked to Bruce 2 weeks ago about that very thing. I'm all for it, lets do it. You guys have a nice day.... wait that sounds to much like Ed Obrien. lol K Lynch
BTW
Jeff, I haven't sandbagged on any run including a red light run. More than I can say about others that try to save HP on their combos. 55 HP in just over 9 weeks is pretty stout!

Terry, Jeff T. had a choice of rockers, we don't. If this was an issue with a 350 Chev or 390 Ford would you still say" Im sure NHRA will "Poop" out a new spec. to cover your Azz and protect the OLD cars." Just Saying

Keith lets go to pinnacle peaks for a steak on Thursday night at Pomona Andy and I would like to visit with you. Not to take away from the rest of your team but I know you know how to make a car fast. Congrats to you all. Think we are getting #5. I think we will be able to make it go on down the road. I am really excited.

Im NOT trying to be nasty here. Im just stating how it works in tear down as some dont understand the process unless your an old fart and have been thru it a few times. The rocker has to check dead on the listed ratio or under the listed spec. Grinding your cam under so the lift checks correct at the retainer wont pass tear down. Thats the way it has been for at least 25 years or more (if tech wants to check it) and Jeff Warren got caught even though the lift check OK at the retainer about 15 years ago at an NHRA points race. In order to be legal you MUST use what the spec says or get Chrysler get with NHRA and change it to whatever they want to to be. It could be 1.99 as long as it is in the tech spec book. Not quite the same deal but remember when NHRA bounced the blown Ford Mustangs for pistons last year. Ford got the spec. changed and now all is right with the world.....LOL.
Just rying to help some who may not know this fix the problem BEFORE they get caught in tech.
