Agree on keeping the Scotty rule...not everybody has a stacker and like me it's one or the other....
Don't agree on double races; as previously pointed out a prior and important obligation would kill your points chances.

In my opinion the double point races would work better at the sport nationals, if a sports national could be added to each division. No alky cars = LOTS more time. 2 TT/Qual Friday and race 2-3 rounds, Sat: finish 1st race then 1 TT/qual for 2nd race and possible 1st round. Race Sun and everyone is heading home early. Lots of cars already attend these races, so it's kinda a win/win for everyone.
Keep the Scotty rule...........Anybody who thinks SST is an entry level class has no idea what they're talking about. However, as someone else pointed out, letting the multi-car teams in SST would leave lots of us with only 1 car on the sidelines at national events and push more of us away from NHRA (unless that is their intention). Also, as others have said, 1 or 2 more national events per division would be great! Kinda sucks to pay the same entry, license, membership, cert and safety fees as everyone esle, and get treated like the toe headed, bow legged, butt tooth, basdard children of the sport. A national points system would be excellent, but now we're really dreaming. SST 1st round on Saturday at divisionals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave the indexs alone........I run 10.30 flat out, so if that happens......SEE YA LATER!!!!!!!!!!!

I say GET RID OF ALCOHOL (the class not the drinks), and have friday as time runs, and saturday have one time run and race eliminations until we cant anymore, then on sunday NO TIME RUNS, and race another race, and complete what was not completed on saturday. Obviously would have to give more time for those in late from the sat race and racing the sun race too (especially with double entries)
As far as alcohol, let them run at the national events and exibition events only. not for nothing they screw up the track and take WAY too much time more than the benefit of the additional spectators. Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will be bringing in the spectators, so we dont need ALCOHOL! Last edited by sc1153; 09-09-2010 at 08:36 PM. |

as a s/st racer it amazes me when i hear that s/st is an ENTRY LEVEL$$$$. the only category that could be considered ENTRY would be Z stock (not for long) the issue of spectators will not change because they come for the PROS. lower the indexes will only keep new racers away , more $$$$ to compete. lets look at National points and Events for s/st

Get rid of the .370 or .360 tree and few people that are missing might come back. They change from the .4 to .5 tree with a computer program change, why not adjust the computer program to put the S/C and S/G classes back the way they were. There is nothing more frustrating than having .035 in the box one week and have to "snoop her in" for a .025 the next. No one in their right mind would repeatedly bring a car to a Div or Nat race that can only manage a .040 light. The touring sportsmen with mega-dollar equipment will always be there, but if you want the larger fields again, you need to make it more competitive for less money.
