Lightbulb Re: Comp Cam Break-in Lube (Part # 159-12)

Hey...just by chance, I picked up a copy of "Drag Racing Action" (July/10 Issue) and on page 31 there is an article titled "Blame it on...Clean Air". The subtitle is "The reduction of Zinc in oil will create wear problems". Contributors are Castrol, Comp Cams, Lucas Oil and Valvoline. Interesting reading.

Guys,
Think of it this way... Zinc is to oil what Lead is to gas as far as wear resistance qualities. Remember lead built up wear barriers and when we had to do away with it it caused wear problems with Valve seats and guides.
Zinc does the same thing to cam and lifters and rocker assys. It builds up a protective wear barrier. No Zinc, No wear barrier. We even add a Zinc addative to the oil we use in an A/Fuel project I'm working on.
