If its a daily driver and you have E85 coming out the ears like we do, its a good choce.

Like Ed says you will need to replace stuff, but well.....in the long run it will be cheaper and a good long term solution in my opinion.

E85 Octane runs between about 95 (in winter months they mix it about 70-30 for easier starting) and about 105 when its full 85% (E85 is NOT always 85% ethanol)

The ethanol has good vaporization at altitude , so not a bad option for you....

Edlebrock now sells an E85 Carb I think....?

Since I have no idea what kind of car or other reqs you have....

The twin turbo 5.7 hemi I am building for my 72 challenger is going to be an E85 motor, I have some 11:1 pistons, and well with the turbos....I need to run it. Im not going to run much boost normally so, it will work good, everywhere the car will go is within 10 miles of an E85 pump at home. (Plus with the E85 I can run 11:1 pistons with a turbo ....)

I wil have a second fuel map for "emergency" gas usage but....E85 is Zee plan...

I like it, runs good expect about 1/2 the mileage out of the ethanol component than Gasoline, so if its 85% Ethanol (like in the summer) then about 42.5 less MPG than just gas alone. Which makes it pricey as well when you take that into account. (well about 42 % more than gasoline

We played with low lead avgas 110 octane I think, but we had problems as well, the stuff is made to vaporize at 12k feet not 800ft like us....never did get our custom formulations "quite right" like you.......

If there's a motorcycle shop that caters to dirt bikes, try them. They usually have VP for the racers. E85 will require replacing all of the rubber parts of your fuel system, hoses, pump diaphrams, etc. The guys at Quick Fuel can help you with the E85. Is E85 available in your area?
